Ci sono gare che sono destinate ad essere ricordate nella mente di una persona più di altre. Se l'anno scorso la gara di Avelengo è stata per me assolutamente memorabile e libidinosa, quest'anno il ponte del primo maggio rimarrà mitico!
Mezzocorona in primis, con la cronoscalata al Monte, la gara di CO ed la sontuosa ospitalità della squadra del Paolino. E poi questo Campionato Trentino/Sudtirolese a staffetta!
Certo il risultato non è stato dei migliori (PM al punto 4), ma la gara è stata piena di emozioni.
Al lancio, nella foga di seguire i miei due rivali ( Dario e Dalla Santa ) non passo per la svedese. Ma alla fine scopro che saranno in molti a fare questo errore.
Le prime due lanterne sono delle variazioni, ma alla tre sono ancora a stretto contatto con Dalla Santa e con Dario alle spalle. Quest'ultimo riesce ad accellerare nel loop successivo e sferra il definitivo allungo nella tratta 9-10 che prevede un trasferimento su sentiero. Il mio obiettivo è quello di tenere il ritmo di Dalla Santa ( per altro già eccessivo per le mie gambe ancora stanche dalla salita al Monte di Mezzocorona e non tanto veloci come quelle degli altri due campioni ) per dare il cambio al Cip al meglio. Ed in questo mi aiuta un errore del portacolori del Pavione alla 10 che lo costringe a 30' di errore e mi permette di rifiatare un po' nelle lanterne successive. Fra la 12 e la 13 mitico passaggio nella palude, che mi fa ricordare le mie avventure nordiche. Poi un errore nella lettura delle curve alla 13 e Dalla Santa si rifà sotto. Ne aprofitto per stargli a ruota fino al punto spettacolo, mentre lui si allontana sempre più. Nel loop finale sono stanco, ma cerco di stringere i denti per dare al Cip meno secondo di svantaggio sul Pavione possibile.
Mentre Andrea è nel bosco a lottare con uno scatenato Gabriele Bettega, io vado a scaricare e scopro la triste verità di un P.M. con 37' 10'' di gara ( che sarebbe valso un terzo tempo assoluto di categoria ).
